Focus Groups

Focus groups are in-depth group discussions typically involving 6 to 12 people.  We conduct focus groups to:

  • bring to light people's ideas or attitudes on a specific subject,

  • help explore or explain those views,

  • generate new ideas.

They can be used alone, or as part of a larger study.  They can be used prior to a quantitative survey to focus on key issues and aid questionnaire design, or after a quantitative study to give more insight into the findings.

We digitally record and transcribe discussions to allow the moderator to write a summary of the findings, which can be followed by a fuller analysis if required.

We can design, moderate and analyse discussion groups.  We provide our own recording equipment and book ‘neutral’ venues if required.
