EXPLORE THE SOUTH WEST POLL WITH MARKETING MEANS

A new and unique market research
service has been launched by Devon
research agency, Marketing Means.
The bi-monthly South West Poll offers
a cost effective way for organisations
to get a real snapshot of South West
residents’ opinions.
The South West Poll is an omnibus survey.
This means that different organisations
can pay to have one or more questions
on the survey. The survey already has
‘demographic questions’ so that clients
can have their answers split by gender,
age, social class and where people live.
The idea of the omnibus is that it is cost
effective, because different clients share
the cost of running it.
The South West Poll was launched at the
end of July and the second was run at the
end of September. Results were available
within two days of the data being collected.
Questions on the surveys have covered a
whole range of topics, from fox hunting to
voting, company recognition to the London
Olympic bid. Organisations such as SWEB
and the BBC have already used the survey
for a wide range of uses.

Any company or organisation that needs to find out about people in the region can use the South West Poll to pose the questions. National omnibus surveys normally only interview between 60 to 80 people in the South West and commissioning a one-off survey can be an expensive alternative.
